San Francisco Historical Photos Contest: Summer 2020

Summer 2020 – Lands End Station 1905
When the United Railroads of San Francisco rebuilt the popular Cliff Line in 1905, they not only converted it from a steam train to electric streetcar operations, they also constructed a new depot near Mile Rock beach to replace a ramshackle shed dating to the 1880s. The new hexagonal station would serve as both a waiting room and a food concession.
Every quarter we put out our “Local Insights” newsletter that has seasonal insights about the current San Francisco real estate market, local events, art, food, volunteer opportunities, and a San Francisco historical photo contest.
This page is a collection of the past contest photos with descriptions. In order to have a chance to win our next contest, sign up for our newsletter. Winners include a feature in our “Local Insights” newsletter and a special call-out in an upcoming blog post.
